Company History Timeline

1974

Pierre Deaudelin started his business at the age of 22 with $1,400 in his pocket. At that time, his clientele consisted of garages and service stations in the Montreal area. He locally purchased the parts he distributed.

1980

In the early 1980s, the demand for automotive parts and accessories was growing rapidly. Pierre then turned to American wholesalers. This marked the beginning of distributing to Quebec retailers (wagon jobbers).

In 1986, recognizing the market potential, Pierre decided to acquire his first warehouse on Masse Street in Montreal. He also hired his first employee before embarking solo on a trip to China, where he visited several factories and established strong connections with their owners.

1990

In 1990, Pierre acquired his second warehouse on Philippe-Panneton Street, tripling the size of the previous building. Then, in 1995, Transbec acquired ATLAS, opening doors to new vehicle dealerships. Sales expanded into Ontario and the Maritime provinces, supported by a team of six representatives.

By 1998, with a workforce of 75 employees, Pierre acquired his third warehouse spanning 54,000 square feet.

2000

In 2006, Pierre built his new 100,000 square foot warehouse in Laval, north of Montreal. Dominic Deaudelin was appointed Purchasing Director, and Philippe Desjardins became Sales Director. Two years later, Pierre acquired Direct Auto Import and expanded his warehouse by 65,000 square feet. Kevin Fleury was then appointed Sales Director of Transbec.

2010

In 2011, Bernard Lachance joined the team as General Manager. At that time, Transbec had five warehouses across Canada.

In 2013, during a trip to Germany, Pierre decided to add the Bremsen brake brand, specializing in discs and pads, to its product lineup.

2020

The growth continues, with 16 warehouses spanning coast to coast totaling over 400,000 square feet. There are now more than 220 employees on the team. In 2022, Transbec expanded its Laval warehouse with a 35,000 square foot extension, bringing its total area to over 500,000 square feet.

Today, the company continues to grow, with new warehouses slated to open their doors this year.
